What you will do:

Our Fraud Technical Consultant will be a consultative subject matter expert in credit risk and fraud prevention that will drive additional value from rules customisation and configuration within Equifax’s fraud solutions.

You will be core in the construction of fraud assessment strategies, ensuring that appropriate analysis is undertaken to validate the strategy with a customer’s needs. You will be required to engage resources from sales, product management, and customer implementations to enable proof of concepts and customisations for our customers.

The role will work with Sales and the Fraud Product Manager, keeping on top of emerging fraud trends, helping to provide market feedback, and making suggestions for baseline rules changes and new product enhancements.

The role is a national position engaging customers at multiple stages of the life cycle including pre-sales support, on-boarding and training, and after-sales professional services and consultancy.  The role is vital in the generation of profitable new business for Equifax, whilst preventing fraud losses for Equifax customers. Our Fraud Technical Consultant will be able to develop and demonstrate solution benefits providing a good client return on investment.

You will work in a team who are dedicated and passionate about their purpose, and with a manager who trusts his team to do the best job they can whilst providing support and assistance where needed.

This role can be based in Sydney/Melbourne or Brisbane.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Deep understanding of consumer and commercial credit risk, and application fraud
  • Ability to understand and investigate a customer problem using various methods and tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, preferably in a consultative, strategy or advisory role
  • A network in the Australian fraud prevention community
  • 10+ years’ experience in Application Fraud detection

Extra points for any of the following:

  • Direct experience with fraud detection tools in a major bank/financial services analytics team
  • Database query skills
