What you’ll do:  

(This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract) 

The Business Science and BI / ML Engineering group within the Equifax Analytics function has responsibility for ensuring that Data and Analytics  is capable of delivering on client commitments, new product initiatives (NPI), and innovation. 

The function is responsible for defining current D&A capabilities, including its limitations, and for pushing the business forward on what capabilities are needed to meet its future.

The function itself does not deliver specific client or ad hoc projects, nor does the function build products. However, it is responsible for ensuring that the Data Science, Data Office, and Advisory functions have what they need to build out requirements from clients / product, and for ensuring that Sales, Product, and Marketing are informed of what D&A is capable of delivering on.

The function is heavily involved in interacting with all parts of the business to articulate and detail requirements, work on architecture, proof of concept, and when built by a Data & Analytics function, to be able to deploy it to production systems.

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years’ experience in either analytics / data / data engineering / BI industry

  • Experience stakeholder facing skills and business acumen as well as technical competence

  • Stakeholder focused approach to solution design and issue resolution

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to present complex information simply and directly

  • Flexibility to manage changing schedules and priorities and to be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strong numeracy skills and analysis skills 

  • Highly driven and results focused. Proven history of working in a proactive and persistent manner

  • Proactively pursues new opportunities. Perseveres and succeeds under stressful, ambiguous or challenging circumstances

  • Proficiency in SQL

  • Proficiency in Unix and Shell Scripting (Bash or similar)

  • Proficiency in BI software, in particular Tableau

  • A willingness to learn new applications and systems 

The following would be considered advantageous but not essential

  • Experience in data analysis software such as R or python 

  • Experience using Hadoop 

  • Experience with cloud technology, specifically GCP
