What you’ll do:
The Big Data Platform Analyst is responsible for ensuring overall performance, availability and fitness of the big data analytic ecosystem of data, applications, tools and environments essential for Equifax Data and Analytics operations.
This team member will analyze platform performance, coordinate activities with Administration, IT and D&A teams to implement new and improved platform functionality and systems to ensure continuous performance of applications critical for D&A success.
Further, the team member will support certification of different parts of the Big Data chain, validating data, flow, and functionality to ensure the tools and data are largely fit for purpose. They will work with various teams to gather testing requirements, as well as build monitoring suites.
This individual must have a balance of strong technical skills and business acumen to elevate performance & quality to the highest level for the company. The individual will leverage data analysis skills and ability to learn quickly in fast evolving technology environment.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Statistics
- 2+ years Big Data skills including Hadoop, Python, Linux, BigQuery, GCP dataflow, SQL or equivalent
- Experience with data analysis and problem solving with big data
- Data mining skills and experience with BI tools such as Spotfire, Tableau or equivalent
- Complex problem-solving skills to identify technical performance gaps and develop solutions
- Ability to resolve complex issues through active listening and interpretation
- Excellent observational skills to validate data
- Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to technical staff, managers, and users
- Organisational and project management skills
Extra points for any of the following:
- Applicable advanced degrees and certificates
- Experience in the disciplines of data quality, data governance, data integration and data management
