What you’ll do:
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, managing and administering Equifax’s database management systems. Through manipulating large sets of data, the Data engineer will determine data quality and recommend data improvements. In addition, the Data engineer will assist in providing technical assistance and advice and use data set and database design knowledge to recommend, build and implement data solutions.
This position is within the data team, it requires excellent business and data analysis skills. The successful applicant will receive mentoring and coaching from other members of the team. Furthermore, using their knowledge and experience, this individual will be expected to make improvements to the function in line with internal and market developments.
What are we looking for?
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in software development, database analysis/management
- Working experience of Cloud data platforms particularly on GCP
- Expert knowledge of Big Data technologies and BiQuery
- Expertise in manipulation of large data sets and analysis of data using SQL, Excel and Hadoop
- High level of database knowledge – database design and modelling
- Problem solving ability and drive to get to the bottom of issues
- Experience dealing with very large data sets
- A willingness to learn new applications and systems
- Self-driven and enthusiastic in discovering new ideas, technology and personal development
